Short Term Accommodation and Assistance (Respite)
Taking a little break and trying new things is not only fun but also refreshing! At Mimosa Care, we offer short-term accommodation (STA) for NDIS participants and their carers to enjoy a pause from the daily routine, explore new activities, and build new skills, all while ensuring caregivers get a well-deserved rest.
Our short-term accommodation is like a mini-vacation where you can stay for up to 14 days at a time, either solo or with friends. It’s not just about a cozy place to stay but also about enjoying new experiences, especially when your usual carers are taking a break or if you’re keen to try something new.
Short-Term Accommodation (STA) with Mimosa Care in Australia
Our NDIS Support Coordinators and participants create a team, working together to figure out exactly what you need from STA. We guide NDIS participants to the coziest and most suitable accommodation, keeping in mind your personal preferences, location, and plan goals.
When Can You Use STA?
- For a little respite stay away from your usual supports
- To try something new and exciting away from home
- Short stays for medical or allied health appointments
- When your informal support network needs a break
Your NDIS Plan and Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
Remember, you might not need specific funding in your plan for short-term accommodations. The support you get through your Core budget can help you achieve your goals, including enjoying Short-Term Accommodation.
We can work together with the Local Area Coordinator to plan the STA and even review the plan if things change for you. Just keep in mind, Short-Term Accommodations aren’t for housing crises but can be used for support areas directly related to your disability.
Our friendly disability support team is here to help you pick the best option that meets your needs.
